Experience the wonder and nostalgia of Dr. Seuss in this exhibit of bronze tribute sculpture created to pay homage to the books, characters, and lasting messages.

Dow Gardens is celebrating the Art of Dr. Seuss!  Delight in seeing the traveling garden sculpture of popular Seuss characters like the Cat in the Hat, Sam I Am, the Lorax, the Grinch, and Yertle the Turtle. 

In addition to this exhibition, the Midland Center for the Arts will  be hosting the "Art of Dr. Seuss a Retrospective," a rare glimpse into the artistic life of Theodor Seuss Geisel and his almost seven decades of groundbreaking creative work.The Grace A. Dow Memorial Library, located just next door, will be kicking off summer reading with Dr. Seuss.  Be sure to visit the children's area located on the library's lower level.  Hours vary by location

SEE THE ART FROM A CART

Hour-long golf cart tours are offered at 3:00PM for admission plus $2 per person. Reservations are highly suggested due to a maximum number of 5 people per day. Call 989.631.2677 for availability.

SPEAKING FOR THE TREES

In honor of “The Lorax” come and learn from Chris Pargoff, a speaker for the trees, he knows of forestry and will speak to you with ease. From this special event you will take a tree home to plant, and learn how to treat it – we will surely teach you that! The Lorax will be read, then tree care and importance of trees, all participants will take home a white pine seedling. Call 989.631.2677 to register! $5.00 per family.

SUMMER BLOCK PARTY

Inside, outside, all around, The Art of Dr. Seuss is coming to town! Plan to attend a Block Party at Discovery Square (corner of Eastman and W. St. Andrews.)

Explore, experiment, and let your imagination take you to new places with free activities for kids, refreshments, and more. While visiting, sign up for the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library Summer Reading Program, visit The Art of Dr. Seuss: A Retrospective Exhibition at the Alden B. Dow Museum of Science & Art (admission required), and see at the The Art of Dr. Seuss Bronze Tribute Collection at the Dow Gardens.

To add to the fun and make the day complete, wear a crazy hat on your head and silly socks on your feet!
