Enjoy great stories, simple activities, and big fun every Friday in the Dow Garden's Children's Garden! Drop in, every Friday morning, (May thru September) to hear award-winning children’s books read aloud. A short activity generally follows the reading! All ages are welcome.

Summer Adult Art Classes
An opportunity for the new, and experienced artist alike, to enjoy a relaxed, informal educational atmosphere in Dow Gardens. Participants will create a personal artwork, inspired from surrounding natural beauty. Each class will take place in a different location throughout the gardens, to provide new stimuli for rendering.

Journaling at the Pines
Just as Herbert endeavored to keep journals to capture thoughts, reflect on events, or explore his creativity, you will be encouraged to journal throughout the summer in the historic Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Home, the Pines.

Kids Tree Climbing
Adventure upward into the trees in this rare outdoor experience! Helmets, child-size climbing harnesses, and guidance will be provided by a trained specialist. This class is perfect for children up to the challenge of pulling themselves upward into a tree.

Join the team from Captured Community and Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation Historian Samantha Engel for a three-part series that will introduce the history of hand lettering as well as teach you to create your own wonderful works of art! Classes will take place in The Pines, the Homestead of Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow.

Learn how the Dow's expanded and furnished the residence.  Tours of the Pines take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 10AM as well as Fridays at 1:30PM.
