Butterflies in Bloom
This interactive exhibit features thousands of brilliantly-colored butterflies, from countries around the world, emerging from their chrysalis, feeding, and flying all within the tropical environment of The Dow Garden's conservatory.

Enjoy great stories, simple activities, and big fun every Friday in the Dow Garden's Children's Garden! Drop in, every Friday morning, (May thru September) to hear award-winning children’s books read aloud. A short activity generally follows the reading! All ages are welcome.

Summer Adult Art Classes
An opportunity for the new, and experienced artist alike, to enjoy a relaxed, informal educational atmosphere in Dow Gardens. Participants will create a personal artwork, inspired from surrounding natural beauty. Each class will take place in a different location throughout the gardens, to provide new stimuli for rendering.

A summer concert series showcasing regional bands as they perform original work surrounded by the beauty of Dow Gardens. Bring a blanket or picnic, grab a chair and enjoy the thrill of live music!

Breakfast with the Birds  
Join us for a glorious sunrise walk through Dow Gardens as we observe birds on their migration north for the summer. Dr. Michael Hamas will lead the walk offering a glimpse of his incredible knowledge of ornithology. Our walk will conclude with a light breakfast in Dow Garden’s historic barn.

Why give your mother flowers that will last a short time? Join us as we create a planter that will continue to provide beautiful blooms all summer long! Each registered family will have the opportunity to create a handmade card to go with their planter for Mother’s Day.

Learn about growing basil, "the herb of summer" and simple ways to use it in your cooking! Class includes a live pesto making demonstration & tasting. Participants will plant and take home a container with five different varieties.

Learn how the Dow's expanded and furnished the residence.  Tours of the Pines take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 10AM as well as Fridays at 1:30PM.
